Maggie birthed her business in 2022.  She tunneled her faith and interestingly, her love of oyster shells into the 
Reason for the Season.  She often says "Oysters are beautiful and unique in life. Just like us, no two are alike."  Through trial and error, she created these adorable and unique holy family nativities. 

She hunts the shells in both VA and NC. With the help of her husband Mark, they clean, drill, paint and rim each shell, readying them for the precious polymer like holy family figures. 

Together she and Mark sell them at a large annual Oyster Festival in VA and at a regional holiday Bazaar.  The local demand led her to create the Reason for the Season website. 

A fun story Maggie likes to tell from one of her holiday shows.  An elderly customer commented, "I collect nativities and have over 350; but I don't have one in an oyster shell!"   She loved her new purchase.
